Food and Drink!

Bishopthorpe, the village near the inner planets, has several good pubs:

The Marcia is closest to the planets and serves excellent food.

Next along the high street is ‘The Woodman’, again, serves food and has a garden.

The Ebor, further down the high street has a large garden, popular with children.

Naburn’s Blacksmith’s Arms is not far from the track and serves good food.

You might think Escrick pubs would be a convenient stopping point on a journey down the solar system, but beware! Escrick station is quite a way from Escrick itself.

Just beyond Pluto you reach Riccall which has two pubs, the Greyhound and the Hare and Hounds, both of which serve good food.

Between Mars and Jupiter lies Brunswick Organic Nursery (http://www.brunswickyork.org.uk/) - a productive workplace for adults with learning difficulties. They sell a wonderful range of plants and also have a shop which sells ice-cream!

At Naburn some of the station buildings survive and it’s a good place to stop for some refreshment in the cafe, which is often open in the summer months.
